| Location: |

Set amongst the vineyards of the ‘Malpere’, a beautiful wine growing area in the south of France, with panoramic views of unspoilt countryside and a backdrop of the Pyrenees mountains you will find Le Sarrail, a hamlet of 3 luxury houses, each with private terrace and sharing their own heated pool.
Le Sarrail specialises in providing both parents and children with the perfect holiday. Along with the mid-century classic furniture pieces, luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets, WIFI and IPod docks, come a long list of nursery gear, a host of toys, and funky little log-cabin playhouse, not forgetting the stunning views from the heated outdoor pool, the elegant lines and chic loungers of which are very often accessorised with a collection of kiddie inflatables. Guest comments such as ''You have created such a perfect haven for children and grown ups alike that I'm not sure I want to tell anyone else about it - see you next year! (guests with 2 kids under 6yrs) mean that the summer months can often be booked up a year in advance. This is not only because the kids are so happy here with all that's provided for them, but also partly due to the 'hotel style' services that are offered, the extra services list is endless, practically anything can be arranged; on-site wine-tasting, massage, flights over the Pyrenées even a visiting photographer to capture your families happy, tanned holiday moments!
This stylish hideaway offers peace and tranquillity, though local amenities, aswell as kiddies park, tennis courts & fishing lake are found in the medieval hilltop village of Montréal only 5 minutes away. A quarter of an hour beyond Montréal lies the bustling fortified town of Carcassonne with its famous 12th Century castle 'La cité', festivals, jousting, markets, pavement cafés, shops & restaurants.
If you can bear to tear yourself away from Le Sarrail for longer there is so much to discover nearby; it's less than an hour from both the beautiful wide sandy beaches of the Mediterranean with its quaint fishing towns and the Pyrenean ski slopes. Only 20 minutes from the property you'll find Lake Cavayère (otherwise known as 'Carcassonne plage') with it's stunning scenery & stroller-friendly walks, sandy beach and little boats is only 20 minutes and for the more active there's 'Acro Branch' (for kids of all ages & adults) where you literally swing from the trees or there's the Australia Park, this is always a memorable day out for the kids. Forty minutes drive will find you in the foothills of the Pyrenées perfect for picnics with its breaktaking gorges, canoeing, rafting, climbing, hiking, the 'Wolf Park', Dinosaur Museum or just take in the scenery the many stunning mountain towns & villages. Staying closer to home, the tree-lined canal du midi is only 10 minutes from the property and is the perfect shady place to go on a hot day with little ones, whether you hire a little boat or cycle along the footpath, it's a memorable experience. |
| Accommodation: |
|
Each house is indvididually designed, but all have the same airy and relaxed and feel.
The ground floor areas are light, spacious and semi-open plan with fully equipped kitchen, dining area with table & seating and a comfortable lounge area with flat screen TV, DVD player & wood burning stove. All the houses have been meticulously thought out, and all have high quality fully equipped kitchens, 5 ring gas stove, dishwasher, giant fridge-freezer, microwave, washine machine and a private furnished terrace with gas BBQ. Upstairs, the master bedrooms have comfortable kingsize beds and ensuite facilities. Twin bedded, single and bunkbed rooms share a family bathroom (with tub) and all towels (including pool towels) and hairdryers are provided.
Maison Citron & Maison Figue can inter-connect if required on the ground floor level and the divison between the two terraces can be folded back. The two houses would then sleep 11 - ideal for larger groups or two families holidaying together. |
| Facilities: |
|
The pool area shared by the houses is fenced with a child-proof gate, for extra peace of mind and security the pool has an electronically operated safety cover. It is heated from Easter through to November to a temperature perfect for babies and toddlers, there also are plenty of inflatables for use in the pool as well as more than enough sunbeds to lounge on.
The shady 1000 sq ft barn is always popular with adults and kids alike. Crammed with ride-ons, baby-foot and other games the kids can make friends, while parents can chill out, sip a cold drink and gaze at the view.
Le Sarrail prides itself on service, offering to arrange just about anything you could want; delicious organic French meals delivered to your door, on-site massage, reflexology & yoga, wine-tasting, baby-sitting aswell as bike hire, flying over the Pyrénees' cathar castles, health & fitness training, skiing lessons – the list is endless.
The owners have a wealth of knowledge of the area and nothing is too much for them; reservations at the wonderful nearby restaurants – from little French bistros to Michelin starred restaurants – to white water rafting & sailing, they are happy tailor-make your holiday with you and suggest activities that will suit your whole family.
A very generous welcome pack awaits you at Le Sarrail; bread, milk, butter, cheese, ham, cereal selection, biscuits, wine & beers to name but a few of the things you'll find in your kitchen. |
| For children: |
|
The saying goes 'if the kids are happy, then the parents are happy' well, that's certainly true of the families that have stayed here. The main attractions being bouncing on the 14 trampoline (with security net), the log cabin stuffed with toys, swings (including baby swing), ride-ons, babminton, petanque, of course the pool with its inflatables but most of all the three freindly cats and one very greedy dog!
A selection of books, games, pens & paper & DVD's can also be found in each house aswell as kids cookbook for a bit of messy entertainment!
For little ones, there's no need to bring all the baby paraphanalia, everthing can be provided; stairgates, cot, bedguard, highchair, booster seat, lightweight pushchair, baby-sling, steriliser, hand blender, rocker chair, walker, baby playmat, baby bath, non-slip bath mat, toddler stools, changing mat, blackout curtains, matress protector, nightlights, UV tent for pool or beach use, plastic crockery, cutlery & sippy cup, & potty – if they've forgotton anything let them know and they will do their best to get it for you! |

Chamonix town is a vibrant Alpine centre, with a wide selection of typical cafes, pastry shops, bars, restaurants and shops. There are some stunning sightseeing opportunities such as a ride up the Aiguille du Midi cable car, one of the highest in the world, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Alps from a height of 3800m.

The bedrooms provide a contemporary mix of comfort and technology, whilst the tranquil bathrooms provide you with a quiet sanctuary, somewhere to relax after a day on the slopes.
The chalet garden has an enormous east-facing deck bordering a lush forest of pines, ideal for outdoor exercise, massage, barbecues or watching the sun set over the peaks from the hot-tub. Within the chalet is a dedicated sauna and spa room where guests can enjoy a range of massage and beauty treatments.

In winter, there are ski schools which welcome children for whole or half days, offering both tuition and supervision. There are 2/3 bedroom townhouses and 3/4/5 bedroom villas. All have private pools and gardens – the townhouse pools are smaller, but still a reasonable size. The houses and villas are all of an extremely high standard. Decorated in cool, neutral colours with shaker style furniture, they are very spacious and very well equipped. There is air conditioning/heating in all rooms, 3 TVs (in a 3 bed townhouse) all with internet, email and playstation, film access, and a full list of satellite stations including all UK terrestrial channels. DvD’s are available for hire. There’s a cd system in the lounge/dining room. The bedrooms are very large, all with spacious en suite bathrooms with both a shower and bath. The living/dining room is spacious and very comfortable – and leads to a patio (equipped with barbecue) and to the garden and pool. The kitchens are stylish and superbly equipped, with every device you could wish for including microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, juicer, and very high quality cutlery and crockery. The towel and bathroom provision is as per a hotel – fluffy white towels, pool towels, bathrobes and slippers, good quality toiletries.
The villas and townhouses are all set on the small site (it can be walked around easily, unlike many villa resorts) and linked with cobbled pedestrian lanes. They benefit from daily hotel-style maid service – beds are changed every day, towels changed, rubbish taken care of and the whole house cleaned and tidied from top to bottom. |
