Things to think about:
- The major islands (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote)are very developed in parts, so choose carefully. Playa Blanca in Lanzarote is a good choice, as is La Gomera if you dont mind the short ferry transfer.
- The weather is generally around 22C during the winter months, but most of the islands have a sunny side, especially Tenerife (the South East). While warm winter weather is the norm, it cant be guaranteed, especially in December/January
- Sea is Atlantic and can therefore be pretty chilly and rough, although Playa Blanca on Lanzarote is known for being more sheltered
- Fuerteventura is less developed and very beautiful with wide, windswept beaches, but be prepared, it is VERY windy, most of the time
