- Beautiful Ionian Island - wooded hills, tiny bays, great for snorkelling.
- Some development obviously but plenty of unspoilt areas.
- Quiet villages
- Fascinating Venetian Corfu Town with plenty of shops, restaurants, cafés and a real "town" feel.
- Lots to see, very easy to get about.
- Children loved.
- Beaches mainly pebble/shingle in unspoilt areas, although some sandy unspoilt spots in North west and east. (Try Agios Stephanos, Myrtiotissa. Kassiopi is quite developed but the sands at Sidari are good for kids)
- Just 2.5 hours flying time from GB.
Things to think about:
- It is very busy during peak months, and unless you travel to more remote Northern areas or inland, youll always be one of many. If that bothers you, it might be worth selecting a less developed island.
- Lots of the beaches in nice spots are shingle/pebble. So if your toddler is desperate for sandcastles, pick carefully! Sea shoes are good for pebble beaches too see our planning it page.
- Can get very humid in high summer and there are lots of mossies. If youre well prepared (see our planning it page) youll be fine.
