There are very few holiday locations that can be described as perfect for both tired parents and untiring toddlers - but I think we may have found it in North Bradbury Farm. With an 18 month old who needed constant stimulation, and parents who needed rest and recuperation Tracey and Chris's welcome in the middle of the Devonshire countryside provided both, without having to travel further than the farm gates. Accommodation was tasteful and comfortable, yet totally practical for a toddler, with everything thoughtfully provided, from baby cutlery and highchair, to cot and safety latches on the windows. During the day children can walk the farm visiting the animals, ride Pudding the pony, or play on the swing and trampoline. Before going to bed they can join Chris as he feeds the animals, and once in bed, parents can simply put on the monitor and escape the cooking to enjoy an absolutely first class three course meal in the farmhouse dining room or simply dine out on the private patio. Our son Tom was lucky enough to have the added enjoyment of playing with Chris and Tracey's lovely little grandson and both spent many a happy hour in the paddling pool and on their toy tractors around the farmyard! A gem of a place complete with warm welcome, excellent location and first rate hosts who we hope will have us back again very soon!

We decided to attempt a holiday with a 3 year old and a
3 month old baby and were prepared for the usual stressful time. However this
could not have been further from the truth. We had such a wonderful time in May
this year that upon returning home we immediately booked to return in July.
We have never been anywhere so well equipped and child
friendly. The accommodation was of a high standard and safe for children. Our
son was on the trampoline at 8.00am each day, before he helped feed the
chickens, ducks, piglets and lambs. Then the week old puppies had to be visited
before going out for the day.
There is so much to do in North Devon, we particularly
enjoyed the Dinosaur Park in Coombe Martin and the National Trust Watersmeet
which was beautiful in May with a bluebell wood. Our son also enjoyed catching
trout at a nearby trout farm which we cooked on the barbeque back at the barn.
We would also recommend a visit to the chocolate factory in South Molton.
Tracey and Chris are fantastic hosts, you have a very
warm welcome and they are always generous with their time if you have any
questions or just want to chat about what you have done and where to go
tomorrow. We enjoyed the first dinner so much that we made Tracey cook every
night! The food was amazing and Tracey and Chris were great company. It felt
like we were out to dinner every night, when in fact we were just next door
listening on the baby monitor provided by Tracey and Chris. We can highly
recommend the chocolate bread and butter pudding!
We stayed a week but didn't want to leave and ended up
staying another night. We are counting the days to our next visit and have
already chosen our menus!

We were attracted to North Bradbury
Farm initially by the location - in the middle of beautiful countryside, not a
million miles away from stunning beaches and of course Exmoor on the doorstep.
Secondly, we loved the fact that there was ready made entertainment for our
toddler in the form of sheep (which were lambing when we stayed!),ducks,
chickens, horses and Mrs Pig. Thirdly, we loved the fact that Tracey offered
three course meals(from an extensive choice of 12 different menus!)in the
comfort of their medieval dining room. The food was delicious and Chris and
Tracey were great company. Last and no means least the accommodation was
"luxuriously rustic" - beautifully renovated Stables, so comfort for Mum and
Dad - yet whilst not worrying about muddy boots or sticky fingers everywhere!
There is also a self-contained garden - so Matthew could do his thing, whilst
we did ours. We loved the fact that Tracey has a small Farm Shop selling all
sorts from basics, to Tracey's own ready meals and even sheepskin rugs! We
booked for 4 nights and ended up staying an extra night. Chris and Tracey
couldn't have done enough for us and had thought of pretty much everything,
including homemade scones and cider on arrival. We highly recommend it to the
extent, we will definitely be going back - regularly!
